[4:5]  2 sn Trust in the Lord. The psalmist urges his enemies to make peace with God and become his followers.

[27:13]  3 tn In the Hebrew text the sentence is incomplete: “If I had not believed [I would] see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living.” The words “Where would I be” are supplied in the translation to clarify the intent of the statement.

[57:7]  5 tn Or perhaps “confident”; Heb “my heart is steadfast.” The “heart” is viewed here as the seat of the psalmist’s volition and/or emotions.

[112:7]  7 tn Heb “his heart,” viewed here as the seat of the volition and emotions (see Ps 108:1).

[112:7]  8 tn The passive participle בָּטֻחַ [בָּטוּחַ] (batuakh [batuakh]) expresses a state that results from the subject’s action. See Isa 26:3.
