  1. Harap akan Tuhan, hai jiwaku! Dia perlindungan dalam susahmu. Jangan resah, tabah berserah, kar'na habis malam pagi merekah. Dalam derita dan kemelut Tuhan yang setia, Penolongmu!
  2. Harap akan Tuhan, hai jiwaku! Dia perlindungan dalam susahmu. Walau sendu, hatimu remuk, Tuhan mengatasi tiap kemelut. Ya Tuhan, tolong 'ku yang lemah: setiaMu kokoh selamanya!

• [Psa 42:8] Day Thou Gavest, Lord, Is Ended, The

  The day Thou gavest, Lord, is ended, The darkness falls at Thy behest; To Thee our morning hymns ascended, Thy praise shall sanctify our rest. We thank Thee that Thy church, unsleeping, While earth rolls onward into light, Through all the world her watch is keeping, And rests not now by day or night. As o’er each continent and island The dawn leads on another day, The voice of prayer is never silent, Nor dies the strain of praise away. The sun that bids us rest is waking Our brethren ’neath the western sky, And hour by hour fresh lips are making Thy wondrous doings heard on high. So be it, Lord; Thy throne shall never, Like earth’s proud empires, pass away: Thy kingdom stands, and grows forever, Till all Thy creatures own Thy sway.

  God of my life, through all my days, My grateful powers shall sound Thy praise; My song shall wake with opening light, And cheer the dark and silent night. When anxious cares would break my rest, And griefs would tear my throbbing breast, Thy tuneful praises, raised on high, Shall check the murmur and the sigh. When death o’er nature shall prevail, And all its powers of language fail, Joy through my swimming eyes shall break, And mean the thanks I cannot speak. But O! when that last conflict’s o’er, And I am chained to earth no more, With what glad accents shall I rise To join the music of the skies! Soon shall I learn the exalted strains Which echo through the heavenly plains; And emulate, with joy unknown, The glowing seraphs round the throne. The cheerful tribute will I give, Long as a deathless soul shall live; A work so sweet, a theme so high, Demands and crowns eternity.

  God of my life, to Thee I call; Afflicted, at Thy feet I fall; When the great water floods prevail Leave not my trembling heart to fail! Friend of the friendless and the saint, Where should I lodge my deep complaint? Where but with Thee, whose open door Invites the helpless and the poor! Did ever mourner plead with Thee, And Thou refuse that mourner’s plea? Does not the Word still fixed remain That none shall seek Thy face in vain? That were a grief I could not bear, Didst Thou not hear and answer prayer; But a prayer hearing, answering God Supports me under every load. Fair is the lot that’s cast for me! I have an Advocate with Thee; They whom the world caresses most, Have no such privilege to boast. Poor thou I am, despised, forgot, Yet God, my God, forgets me not; And he is safe, and must succeed, For whom the Lord vouchsafes to plead.

• [Psa 77:5] I Thought Upon The Days Of Old

  I thought upon the days of old, The years departed long, I held communion with my heart, By night recalled my song. My heart inquired with anxious care, Will God forever spurn? Shall we no more His favor see? Will mercy ne’er return? Forever shall His promise fail? Has God forgotten grace? Has He withdrawn His tender love, In anger hid His face? These doubts are my infirmity, My thoughts at once reply; I call back years of God’s right hand, The years of God Most High. I will commemorate, O Lord, Thy wondrous deeds of old, And meditate upon Thy works Of power and grace untold. O God, most holy is Thy way, Most perfect, good and right; Thou art the only living God, The God of wondrous might.

• [Psa 139:18] Still, Still With Thee

  Still, still with Thee, when purple morning breaketh, When the bird waketh, and the shadows flee; Fairer than morning, lovelier than daylight, Dawns the sweet consciousness, I am with Thee. Alone with Thee, amid the mystic shadows, The solemn hush of nature newly born; Alone with Thee in breathless adoration, In the calm dew and freshness of the morn. As in the dawning o’er the waveless ocean The image of the morning star doth rest, So in the stillness Thou beholdest only Thine image in the waters of my breast. Still, still with Thee, as to each newborn morning, A fresh and solemn splendor still is given, So does this blessèd consciousness, awaking, Breathe each day nearness unto Thee and Heaven. When sinks the soul, subdued by toil, to slumber, Its closing eye looks up to Thee in prayer; Sweet the repose beneath the wings o’ershading, But sweeter still to wake and find Thee there. So shall it be at last, in that bright morning, When the soul waketh and life’s shadows flee; O in that hour, fairer than daylight dawning, Shall rise the glorious thought, I am with Thee.

  When I awake from slumber To greet the golden day, Then teach me, Lord, to number Its hours in wisdom’s way. While all the heights are calling And skies are blithe and blue, Keep Thou my feet from falling, My heart’s ambitions true. Let simple pleasures cheer me When every goal seems far; Reveal Thyself as near me As life and duty are. • [Psa 149:5] All Ye That Love The Lord, Rejoice

  All ye that love the Lord, rejoice, And let your songs be new; Amidst the church with cheerful voice His later wonders show. The Jews, the people of His grace, Shall their Redeemer sing; And Gentile nations join the praise, While Sion owns her King. The Lord takes pleasure in the just, Whom sinners treat with scorn; The meek that lie despised in dust Salvation shall adorn. Saints should be joyful in their King, E’en on a dying bed; And like the souls in glory sing; For God shall raise the dead. Then His high praise shall fill their tongues Their hands shall wield the sword; And vengeance shall attend their songs, The vengeance of the Lord. When Christ the judgment-seat ascends, And bids the world appear, Thrones are prepared for all His friends Who humbly loved Him here. Then shall they rule with iron rod Nations that dared rebel; And join the sentence of their God On tyrants doomed to hell. The royal sinners bound in chains New triumphs shall afford: Such honor for the saints remains: Praise ye, and love the Lord!

• [Lam 2:19] Our Cities Cry To You, O God

  Our cities cry to you, O God, From out their pain and strife; You made us for Yourself alone, But we choose alien life. Our goals are pleasure, gold, and power; Injustice stalks our earth; In vain we seek for rest, for joy, For sense of human worth. Yet still You walk our streets, O Christ! We know Your presence here, Where humble Christians love and serve In godly grace and fear. O Word made flesh, be seen in us! May all we say and do Affirm You God incarnate still And turn sad hearts to You! Your people are Your hands and feet To serve Your world today; Our lives, the book our cities read To help them find your way. O pour Your sovereign Spirit out On heart and will and brain: Inspire Your church with love and power To ease our cities’ pain! O healing Savior, Prince of Peace, Salvation’s source and sum, For You our broken cities cry— O come, Lord Jesus, come! With truth Your royal diadem, With righteousness Your rod, O come, Lord Jesus, bring to earth The city of our God!
