Psalms 64:9

Context

64:9 and all people will fear. 1 

They will proclaim 2  what God has done,

and reflect on his deeds.

Psalms 106:7

Context

106:7 Our ancestors in Egypt failed to appreciate your miraculous deeds,

they failed to remember your many acts of loyal love,

and they rebelled at the sea, by the Red Sea. 3

[64:9]  1 tc Many medieval Hebrew mss read וַיִּרְאוּ (vayyiru, “and they will see”) instead of וַיִּירְאוּ (vayyirÿu, “and they will proclaim”).

[64:9]  2 tn Heb “the work of God,” referring to the judgment described in v. 7.

[106:7]  3 tn Heb “Reed Sea” (also in vv. 9, 22). “Reed Sea” (or “Sea of Reeds”) is a more accurate rendering of the Hebrew expression יָם סוּף (yam suf), traditionally translated “Red Sea.” See the note on the term “Red Sea” in Exod 13:18.
