• [Psa 22:5] O Lord, Our Father, Shall We Be Confounded?

  O Lord, our Father, shall we be confounded Who, though by trials and woes surrounded, On Thee alone for help are still relying, To Thee are crying? Lord, put to shame Thy foes who breathe defiance And vainly make their might their sole reliance; In mercy turn to us, the poor and stricken, Our hope to quicken. Be Thou our Helper and our strong Defender; Speak to our foes and cause them to surrender. Yea, long before their plans have been completed, They are defeated. ’Tis vain to trust in man; for Thou, Lord, only Art the Defense and Comfort of the lonely. With Thee to lead, the battle shall be glorious And we victorious. Thou art our Hero, all our foes subduing; Save Thou Thy little flock they are pursuing. We seek Thy help; for Jesus’ sake be near us. Great Helper, hear us!

  The mercy of God is an ocean divine, A boundless and fathomless flood. Launch out in the deep, cut away the shore line, And be lost in the fullness of God. Refrain Launch out, into the deep. Oh let the shore line go. Launch out, launch out in the ocean divine, Out where the full tides flow. But many, alas! only stand on the shore, And gaze on the ocean so wide. They never have ventured its depths to explore, Or to launch on the fathomless tide. Psalms 91:2

• [Psa 91:2] Still Will We Trust

  Still will we trust, though earth seem dark and dreary, And the heart faint beneath His chastening rod; Though rough and steep our pathway, worn and weary, Still will we trust in God! Our eyes see dimly till by faith anointed, And our blind choosing brings us grief and pain; Through Him alone Who hath our way appointed, We find our peace again. Choose for us, God! Nor let our weak preferring Cheat our poor souls of good Thou has designed; Choose for us, God! Thy wisdom is unerring, And we are fools and blind. So from our sky the night shall furl her shadows, And day pour gladness through his golden gates, Our rough path lead to flower-enameled meadows, Where joy our coming waits. Let us press on, in patient self denial, Accept the hardship, shrink not from the loss; Our portion lies beyond the hour of trial, Our crown beyond the cross.

  All who, with heart confiding, Depend on God alone, Like Zion’s mount abiding, Shall ne’er be overthrown. Like Zion’s city, bounded By guarding mountains broad, His people are surrounded Forever by their God. No scepter of oppression Shall hold unbroken sway, Lest unto base transgression The righteous turn away. Thy favor be imparted To godly men, O Lord, Bless all that are pure-hearted, The good with good reward. The men who falsehood cherish, Forsaking truth and right, With wicked men shall perish; God will their sin requite; From sin Thy saints defending, Their joy, O Lord, increase, With mercy never ending And everlasting peace.

  Such as in God the Lord do trust As Mount Sion shall firmly stand, And be removèd at no hand, The Lord will count them right and just, So that they shall be sure Forever to endure. As mighty mountains huge and great Jerusalem about do close, So will the Lord be unto those Who on His godly will do wait; Such are to Him so dear They never need to fear. For though the righteous try doth He By making wicked men His rod, Lest they through grief forsake their God; It shall not as their lot still be.
