[9:16]  1 tn Heb “by the work of his hands [the] wicked [one] was ensnared. The singular form רָשָׁע (rasha’, “wicked”) is collective or representative here (see vv. 15, 17). The form נוֹקֵשׁ (noqesh) appears to be an otherwise unattested Qal form (active participle) from נָקַשׁ (naqash), but the form should be emended to נוֹקַשׁ (noqash), a Niphal perfect from יָקַשׁ (yaqash).

[9:16]  2 tn This is probably a technical musical term.

[33:4]  3 sn For the Lord’s decrees are just… After the call to praise (vv. 1-3), the psalmist now gives a series of reasons why the Lord is worthy of praise.

[33:4]  4 tn Heb “word.” In this context, which depicts the Lord as the sovereign creator and ruler of the world, the Lord’s “word” refers to the decrees whereby he governs his dominion.

[33:4]  5 tn Or “upright.”

[33:4]  6 tn Heb “and all his work [is] in faithfulness.”

[62:12]  5 tn Heb “and to you, O Master, [is] loyal love.”

[62:12]  6 tn Heb “for you pay back to a man according to his deed.” Another option is to understand vv. 11b and 12a as the first principle and v. 12b as the second. In this case one might translate, “God has declared one principle, two principles I have heard, namely, that God is strong, and you, O Lord, demonstrate loyal love, and that you repay men for what they do.”

[74:12]  7 tn The psalmist speaks as Israel’s representative here.

[74:12]  8 tn Heb “in the midst of the earth.”

[135:15]  9 tn Heb “the work of the hands of man.”
