19:1 The heavens declare the glory of God; ⁴ 

the sky displays his handiwork. ⁵ 

[90:17]  ¹ tn Heb “and may the delight of the Master, our God, be on us.” The Hebrew term נֹעַם (no’am, “delight”) is used in Ps 27:4 of the Lord’s “beauty,” but here it seems to refer to his favor (see BDB 653 s.v.) or kindness (HALOT 706 s.v.).

[90:17]  ² tn Heb “and the work of our hands establish over us, and the work of our hands, establish it.”

[19:1]  ³ sn Psalm 19. The psalmist praises God for his self-revelation in the heavens and in the Mosaic law. The psalmist concludes with a prayer, asking the Lord to keep him from sinning and to approve of his thoughts and words.

[19:1]  ⁴ sn God’s glory refers here to his royal majesty and power.

[19:1]  ⁵ tn Heb “and the work of his hands the sky declares.” The participles emphasize the ongoing testimony of the heavens/sky.
