Revelation 12:11

Context

12:11 But 1  they overcame him

by the blood of the Lamb

and by the word of their testimony,

and they did not love their lives 2  so much that they were afraid to die.

Revelation 15:8

15:8 and the temple was filled with smoke from God’s glory and from his power. Thus 3  no one could enter the temple until the seven plagues from the seven angels were completed.

[12:11]  1 tn Here καί (kai) has been translated as “but” to indicate the contrast.

[12:11]  2 sn They did not love their lives. See Matt 16:25; Luke 17:33; John 12:25.

[15:8]  3 tn Grk “power, and no one.” A new sentence was started here in the translation. Here καί (kai) has been translated as “thus” to indicate the implied result of the temple being filled with smoke.
