Revelation 14:2

14:2 I also heard a sound ¹  coming out of heaven like the sound of many waters and like the sound of loud thunder. Now ²  the sound I heard was like that made by harpists playing their harps,

18:22 And the sound of the harpists, musicians,

flute players, and trumpeters

will never be heard in you ³  again.

No ⁴  craftsman ⁵  who practices any trade

will ever be found in you again;

the noise of a mill ⁶  will never be heard in you again.

[14:2]  ¹ tn Or “a voice” (cf. Rev 1:15), but since in this context nothing is mentioned as the content of the voice, it is preferable to translate φωνή (fwnh) as “sound” here.

[18:22]  ³ tn The shift to a second person pronoun here corresponds to the Greek text.
