Revelation 14:3

Context
14:3 and they were singing a new song before the throne and before the four living creatures and the elders. No 1  one was able to learn the song except the one hundred and forty-four thousand who had been redeemed from the earth.

Revelation 21:5

Context

21:5 And the one seated on the throne said: “Look! I am making all things new!” Then 2  he said to me, “Write it down, 3  because these words are reliable 4  and true.”

[14:3]  1 tn Grk “elders, and no one.” This is a continuation of the previous sentence in the Greek text, but because of the length and complexity of the sentence a new sentence was started here in the translation.

[21:5]  2 tn Here καί (kai) has been translated as “then” to indicate the implied sequence of events within the vision.

[21:5]  3 tn The words “it down” are not in the Greek text, but are implied. Direct objects were frequently omitted in Greek when clear from the context.

[21:5]  4 tn Grk “faithful.”
