Revelation 16:5

16:5 Now ¹  I heard the angel of the waters saying:

“You are just ²  – the one who is and who was,

the Holy One – because you have passed these judgments, ³ 

Revelation 16:7

16:7 Then ⁴  I heard the altar reply, ⁵  “Yes, Lord God, the All-Powerful, ⁶  your judgments are true and just!”

Revelation 22:11

22:11 The evildoer must continue to do evil, ⁷  and the one who is morally filthy ⁸  must continue to be filthy. The ⁹  one who is righteous must continue to act righteously, and the one who is holy must continue to be holy.”

[16:5]  ¹ tn Here καί (kai) has been translated as “now” to indicate the somewhat parenthetical nature of the remarks that follow.

[16:5]  ² tn Or “righteous,” although the context favors justice as the theme.

[16:5]  ³ tn Or “because you have judged these things.” The pronoun ταῦτα (tauta) is neuter gender.

[16:7]  ⁴ tn Here καί (kai) has been translated as “then” to indicate the implied sequence of events within the vision.

[16:7]  ⁵ tn Grk “the altar saying.”

[16:7]  ⁶ tn On this word BDAG 755 s.v. παντοκράτωρ states, “the Almighty, All-Powerful, Omnipotent (One) only of God…(ὁ) κύριος ὁ θεὸς ὁ π. …Rv 1:8; 4:8; 11:17; 15:3; 16:7; 21:22.”

[22:11]  ⁷ tn Grk “must do evil still.”

[22:11]  ⁸ tn For this translation see L&N 88.258; the term refers to living in moral filth.

[22:11]  ⁹ tn Grk “filthy, and the.” This is a continuation of the previous sentence in Greek, but because of the length and complexity of the construction a new sentence was started in the translation.
