Revelation 16:5

16:5 Now ¹  I heard the angel of the waters saying:

“You are just ²  – the one who is and who was,

the Holy One – because you have passed these judgments, ³ 

Revelation 20:2

20:2 He ⁴  seized the dragon – the ancient serpent, who is the devil and Satan – and tied him up for a thousand years.

Revelation 21:22

21:22 Now ⁵  I saw no temple in the city, because the Lord God – the All-Powerful ⁶  – and the Lamb are its temple.

[16:5]  ¹ tn Here καί (kai) has been translated as “now” to indicate the somewhat parenthetical nature of the remarks that follow.

[16:5]  ² tn Or “righteous,” although the context favors justice as the theme.

[16:5]  ³ tn Or “because you have judged these things.” The pronoun ταῦτα (tauta) is neuter gender.

[20:2]  ⁴ tn Here καί (kai) has not been translated because of differences between Greek and English style.

[21:22]  ⁷ tn Here καί (kai) has been translated as “now” to indicate the transition to a new topic. Every verse from here to the end of this chapter begins with καί in Greek, but due to differences between Greek and contemporary English style, these have not been translated.

[21:22]  ⁸ tn On this word BDAG 755 s.v. παντοκράτωρ states, “the Almighty, All-Powerful, Omnipotent (One) only of God…(ὁ) κύριος ὁ θεὸς ὁ π. …Rv 1:8; 4:8; 11:17; 15:3; 16:7; 21:22.”
