Revelation 8:9

8:9 and a third of the creatures ¹  living in the sea died, and a third of the ships were completely destroyed. ² 

Genesis 7:22

7:22 Everything on dry land that had the breath of life ³  in its nostrils died.

[8:9]  ² tn On the term translated “completely destroyed,” L&N 20.40 states, “to cause the complete destruction of someone or something – ‘to destroy utterly.’ τὸ τρίτον τῶν πλοίων διεφθάρησαν ‘a third of the ships were completely destroyed’ Re 8:9.”

[7:22]  ³ tn Heb “everything which [has] the breath of the spirit of life in its nostrils from all which is in the dry land.”
