Romans 2:3

2:3 And do you think, ¹  whoever you are, when you judge ²  those who practice such things and yet do them yourself, ³  that you will escape God’s judgment?

Romans 9:8

9:8 This means ⁴  it is not the children of the flesh ⁵  who are the children of God; rather, the children of promise are counted as descendants.

[2:3]  ³ tn Grk “and do them.” The other words are supplied to bring out the contrast implied in this clause.

[9:8]  ⁵ tn Because it forms the counterpoint to “the children of promise” the expression “children of the flesh” has been retained in the translation.
