Pay everyone what is owed: taxes to whom taxes are due, revenue to whom revenue is due, respect to whom respect is due, honor to whom honor is due.

For the creation eagerly waits for the revelation of the sons of God.

So then, let us pursue what makes for peace and for building up one another.

For those who live according to the flesh have their outlook shaped by ¹  the things of the flesh, but those who live according to the Spirit have their outlook shaped by the things of the Spirit.

Therefore what advantage does the Jew have, or what is the value of circumcision?

For the outlook ¹  of the flesh is death, but the outlook of the Spirit is life and peace,

that the creation itself will also be set free from the bondage of decay into the glorious freedom of God’s children.

For if, by the transgression of the one man, ¹  death reigned through the one, how much more will those who receive the abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness reign in life through the one, Jesus Christ!

Or do you have contempt for the wealth of his kindness, forbearance, and patience, and yet do not know ¹  that God’s kindness leads you to repentance?

For just as through the disobedience of the one man ¹  many ²  were made sinners, so also through the obedience of one man ³  many ⁴  will be made righteous.

For the law of the life-giving Spirit ¹  in Christ Jesus has set you ²  free from the law of sin and death.

who are Israelites. To them belong ¹  the adoption as sons, ²  the glory, the covenants, the giving of the law, the temple worship, ³  and the promises.

And Isaiah cries out on behalf of Israel, “Though the number of the children ¹  of Israel are as the sand of the sea, only the remnant will be saved,

The night has advanced toward dawn; the day is near. So then we must lay aside the works of darkness, and put on the weapons of light.

The God of peace will quickly crush Satan under your feet. The grace of our Lord Jesus be with you.

And he received the sign of circumcision as a seal of the righteousness that he had by faith while he was still uncircumcised, ¹  so that he would become ²  the father of all those who believe but have never been circumcised, ³  that they too could have righteousness credited to them.

and endurance, character, and character, hope.

(For someone who has died has been freed from sin.) ¹ 

(I am speaking in human terms because of the weakness of your flesh.) ¹  For just as you once presented your members as slaves to impurity and lawlessness leading to more lawlessness, so now present your members as slaves to righteousness leading to sanctification.

For when we were in the flesh, ¹  the sinful desires, ²  aroused by the law, were active in the members of our body ³  to bear fruit for death.
