For if you were cut off from what is by nature a wild olive tree, and grafted, contrary to nature, into a cultivated olive tree, how much more will these natural branches be grafted back into their own olive tree?

You will have olive trees throughout your territory but you will not anoint yourself with olive oil, because the olives will drop off the trees while still unripe. ¹ 

They press out the olive oil between the rows of olive trees; ¹  they tread the winepresses while they are thirsty. ² 

Baal-Hanan the Gederite was in charge of the olive and sycamore trees in the lowlands; ¹  Joash was in charge of the storehouses of olive oil.

a land of wheat, barley, vines, fig trees, and pomegranates, of olive trees and honey,

In the inner sanctuary he made two cherubs of olive wood; each stood 15 feet ¹  high.

Now if some of the branches were broken off, and you, a wild olive shoot, were grafted in among them and participated in ¹  the richness of the olive root,

Like a vine he will let his sour grapes fall, ¹  and like an olive tree he will shed his blossoms. ² 

His young shoots will grow; his splendor will be like an olive tree, his fragrance like a cedar of Lebanon.

Next I asked the messenger, “What are these two olive trees on the right and the left of the menorah?”

(These are the two olive trees and the two lampstands that stand before the Lord of the earth.) ¹ 

olive oil for the light, spices for the anointing oil and for the fragrant incense,

In the same way he made doorposts of olive wood for the entrance to the main hall, only with four-sided pillars. ¹ 

But I ¹  am like a flourishing ²  olive tree in the house of God; I continually ³  trust in God’s loyal love.

Before he could reply I asked again, “What are these two extensions ¹  of the olive trees, which are emptying out the golden oil through the two golden pipes?”

When you beat your olive tree you must not repeat the procedure; ¹  the remaining olives belong to the resident foreigner, orphan, and widow.
