This mystery is great – but I am actually ¹  speaking with reference to Christ and the church.

These curses ¹  will be a perpetual sign and wonder with reference to you and your descendants. ² 

concerning his Son who was a descendant ¹  of David with reference to the flesh, ² 

You were taught with reference to your former way of life to lay aside ¹  the old man who is being corrupted in accordance with deceitful desires,

Therefore, each of us will give an account of himself to God. ¹ 

Now we have such confidence in God through Christ.

For if Joshua had given them rest, God ¹  would not have spoken afterward about another day.

For it is clear that our Lord is descended from Judah, yet Moses said nothing about priests in connection with that tribe.

These things I have written to you about those who are trying to deceive you. ¹ 

For David, after he had served ¹  God’s purpose in his own generation, died, ²  was buried with his ancestors, ³  and experienced ⁴  decay,

Although you, O Israel, commit adultery, do not let Judah become guilty! Do not journey to Gilgal! Do not go up to Beth Aven! ¹  Do not swear, “As surely as the Lord lives!”

Now ¹  they wanted to arrest him (but they feared the crowd), because they realized that he told this parable against them. So ²  they left him and went away. ³ 

so also, after Christ was offered once to bear the sins of many, ¹  to those who eagerly await him he will appear a second time, not to bear sin ²  but to bring salvation. ³
