As for their appearance, all four of them looked the same, something like a wheel within a wheel. ¹ 

The appearance of the wheels and their construction ¹  was like gleaming jasper, ²  and all four wheels looked alike. Their structure was like a wheel within a wheel. ³ 

A wise king separates out ¹  the wicked; he turns the threshing wheel over them. ² 

As I watched, I noticed ¹  four wheels by the cherubim, one wheel beside each cherub; ²  the wheels gleamed like jasper. ³ 

So I went down to the potter’s house and found him working ¹  at his wheel. ² 

Then I looked, ¹  and I saw one wheel ²  on the ground ³  beside each of the four beings.

The four wheels were under the frames and the crossbars of the axles were connected to the stand. Each wheel was two and one-quarter feet ¹  high.

before the silver cord is removed, or the golden bowl is broken, or the pitcher is shattered at the well, ¹  or the water wheel ²  is broken at the cistern –

Grain is crushed, though one certainly does not thresh it forever. The wheel of one’s wagon rolls over it, but his horses do not crush it.

Certainly ¹  caraway seed is not threshed with a sledge, nor is the wheel of a cart rolled over cumin seed. ²  Certainly caraway seed is beaten with a stick, and cumin seed with a flail.

Wherever the spirit ¹  would go, they would go, ²  and the wheels would rise up beside them because the spirit ³  of the living being was in the wheel.

When the living beings moved, the wheels moved, and when they stopped moving, the wheels stopped. ¹  When they rose up from the ground, the wheels rose up from the ground; the wheels rose up beside them because the spirit of the living being was in the wheel.

As for their wheels, they were called “the wheelwork” ¹  as I listened.

The wheels were constructed like chariot wheels; their crossbars, rims, spokes, and hubs were made of cast metal.

When the Lord ¹  commanded the man dressed in linen, “Take fire from within the wheelwork, from among the cherubim,” the man ²  went in and stood by one of the wheels. ³ 

The chariot drivers will crack their whips; ¹  the chariot wheels will shake the ground; ²  the chariot horses ³  will gallop; ⁴  the war chariots ⁵  will bolt forward! ⁶ 

When they ¹  moved, they would go in any of the four directions they faced without turning as they moved; in the direction the head would turn they would follow ²  without turning as they moved,

And the tongue is a fire! The tongue represents ¹  the world of wrongdoing among the parts of our bodies. It ²  pollutes the entire body and sets fire to the course of human existence – and is set on fire by hell. ³ 

O my God, make them like dead thistles, ¹  like dead weeds blown away by ²  the wind!

Her hands ¹  take hold ²  of the distaff, and her hands grasp the spindle.
