So the people rested on the seventh day.

“Remember ¹  the Sabbath ²  day to set it apart as holy. ³ 

and be ready for the third day, for on the third day the Lord will come down on Mount Sinai in the sight of all the people.

On this day, ¹  in the month of Abib, ²  you are going out. ³ 

You must not kindle a fire ¹  in any of your homes ²  on the Sabbath day.” ³ 

On the sixth day ¹  they will prepare what they bring in, and it will be twice as much as they gather every other day.” ² 

In the first month, ¹  from the fourteenth day of the month, in the evening, you will eat bread made without yeast until the twenty-first day of the month in the evening.

That same day Pharaoh commanded ¹  the slave masters and foremen ²  who were ³  over the people: ⁴ 

“Now this is what you are to prepare ¹  on the altar every day continually: two lambs a year old.

In six days ¹  work may be done, but on the seventh day there must be a holy day ²  for you, a Sabbath of complete rest to the Lord. ³  Anyone who does work on it will be put to death.

Now the Lord was going before them by day in a pillar of cloud to lead them in the way, and by night in a pillar of fire to give them light, ¹  so that they could ²  travel day or night. ³ 

Six days you will gather it, but on the seventh day, the Sabbath, there will not be any.”

So you will keep the Feast of Unleavened Bread, because on this very ¹  day I brought your regiments ²  out from the land of Egypt, and so you must keep this day perpetually as a lasting ordinance. ³ 

Six days ¹  work may be done, ²  but on the seventh day is a Sabbath of complete rest, ³  holy to the Lord; anyone who does work on the Sabbath day must surely be put to death.

And on this very day the Lord brought the Israelites out of the land of Egypt by their regiments.

On the seventh day some of the people went out to gather it, but they found nothing.

The Levites did what Moses ordered, ¹  and that day about three thousand men of the people died. ² 

“On the first day of the first month you are to set up ¹  the tabernacle, the tent of meeting.

So the tabernacle was set up on the first day of the first month, in the second year.

For seven days ¹  you must eat ²  bread made without yeast. ³  Surely ⁴  on the first day you must put away yeast from your houses because anyone who eats bread made with yeast ⁵  from the first day to the seventh day will be cut off ⁶  from Israel.
