Be merciful, ¹  just as your Father is merciful.

So ¹  the rich man ²  said, ‘Then I beg you, father – send Lazarus ³  to my father’s house

I will get up and go to my father and say to him, “Father, I have sinned ¹  against heaven ²  and against ³  you.

The ¹  younger of them said to his ²  father, ‘Father, give me the share of the estate ³  that will belong ⁴  to me.’ So ⁵  he divided his ⁶  assets between them. ⁷ 

Then ¹  his father Zechariah was filled with the Holy Spirit and prophesied, ² 

All things have been given to me by my Father. ¹  No one knows who the Son is except the Father, or who the Father is except the Son and anyone to whom the Son decides ²  to reveal him.”

So ¹  the child’s ²  father ³  and mother were amazed ⁴  at what was said about him.

Thus ¹  I grant ²  to you a kingdom, ³  just as my Father granted to me,

So ¹  he got up and went to his father. But while he was still a long way from home ²  his father saw him, and his heart went out to him; ³  he ran and hugged ⁴  his son ⁵  and kissed him.

They will be divided, ¹  father against son and son against father, mother against daughter and daughter against mother, mother-in-law against her daughter-in-law and daughter-in-law against mother-in-law.”

Jesus ¹  said to another, “Follow me.” But he replied, ²  “Lord, first let me go and bury my father.”

For all the nations of the world pursue ¹  these things, and your Father knows that you need them.

But the older son ¹  became angry ²  and refused ³  to go in. His father came out and appealed to him,

Then ¹  the rich man ²  said, ‘No, father Abraham, but if someone from the dead ³  goes to them, they will repent.’

“Father, if you are willing, take ¹  this cup ²  away from me. Yet not my will but yours ³  be done.”

So ¹  they made signs to the baby’s ²  father, ³  inquiring what he wanted to name his son. ⁴ 

So he said to them, “When you pray, ¹  say: Father, ²  may your name be honored; ³  may your kingdom come. ⁴ 

“Do not be afraid, little flock, for your Father is well pleased ¹  to give you the kingdom.

On ¹  the eighth day ²  they came to circumcise the child, and they wanted to name ³  him Zechariah after his father.

Then ¹  the father ²  said to him, ‘Son, you are always with me, and everything that belongs to me is yours.
