The Spirit himself bears witness to ¹  our spirit that we are God’s children.

Who will bring any charge against God’s elect? ¹  It is God who justifies.

Receive one another, then, just as Christ also received you, to God’s glory.

Now we know that God’s judgment is in accordance with truth ¹  against those who practice such things.

For this reason you also pay taxes, for the authorities ¹  are God’s servants devoted to governing. ² 

so that by God’s will I may come to you with joy and be refreshed in your company.

for it is God’s servant for your good. But if you do wrong, be in fear, for it does not bear the sword in vain. It is God’s servant to administer retribution on the wrongdoer.

that the creation itself will also be set free from the bondage of decay into the glorious freedom of God’s children.

And do you think, ¹  whoever you are, when you judge ²  those who practice such things and yet do them yourself, ³  that you will escape God’s judgment?

through whom we have also obtained access by faith into this grace in which we stand, and we rejoice ¹  in the hope of God’s glory.

Much more then, because we have now been declared righteous ¹  by his blood, ²  we will be saved through him from God’s wrath. ³ 

And he ¹  who searches our hearts knows the mind of the Spirit, because the Spirit ²  intercedes on behalf of the saints according to God’s will.

For ignoring the righteousness that comes from God, and seeking instead to establish their own righteousness, they did not submit to God’s righteousness.

Do not avenge yourselves, dear friends, but give place to God’s wrath, ¹  for it is written, “Vengeance is mine, I will repay,” ²  says the Lord.

For I tell you that Christ has become a servant of the circumcised ¹  on behalf of God’s truth to confirm the promises made to the fathers, ² 

Or do you have contempt for the wealth of his kindness, forbearance, and patience, and yet do not know ¹  that God’s kindness leads you to repentance?

But because of your stubbornness ¹  and your unrepentant heart, you are storing up wrath for yourselves in the day of wrath, when God’s righteous judgment is revealed! ² 

Let every person be subject to the governing authorities. For there is no authority except by God’s appointment, ¹  and the authorities that exist have been instituted by God.

For I am not ashamed of the gospel, for it is God’s power for salvation to everyone who believes, to the Jew first and also to the Greek. ¹ 

Although they fully know ¹  God’s righteous decree that those who practice such things deserve to die, ²  they not only do them but also approve of those who practice them. ³
