But Jesus<n id="1" /> turned and rebuked them,<n id="2" />

So<n id="1" /> Herod<n id="2" /> questioned him at considerable length; Jesus<n id="3" /> gave him no answer.

<p class="bodytext">But they all shouted out together,<n id="1" /> &#8220;Take this man<n id="2" /> away! Release Barabbas for us!&#8221;

They<n id="1" /> answered,<n id="2" /> &#8220;John the Baptist; others say Elijah;<n id="3" /> and still others that one of the prophets of long ago has risen.&#8221;<n id="4" />

Then<n id="1" /> he said to them, &#8220;But who do you say that I am?&#8221; Peter<n id="2" /> answered,<n id="3" /> &#8220;The Christ<n id="4" /> of God.&#8221;

But he passed through the crowd<n id="1" /> and went on his way.<n id="2" />p>

Then<n id="1" /> Jesus<n id="2" /> said to her, &#8220;Your sins are forgiven.&#8221;<n id="3" />

<t /><p class="bodytext">Then<n id="1" /> Jesus<n id="2" /> said, &#8220;A man had two sons.

and if<n id="1" /> I ask you, you will not<n id="2" /> answer.

So<n id="1" /> they gave him a piece of broiled fish,

while others were saying that Elijah<n id="1" /> had appeared, and still others that one of the prophets of long ago had risen.<n id="2" />

<t /><p class="bodytext">As he spoke,<n id="1" /> a Pharisee<n id="2" /> invited Jesus<n id="3" /> to have a meal with him, so he went in and took his place at the table.<n id="4" />

Someone<n id="1" /> asked<n id="2" /> him, &#8220;Lord, will only a few<n id="3" /> be saved?&#8221; So<n id="4" /> he said to them,

But the older son<n id="1" /> became angry<n id="2" /> and refused<n id="3" /> to go in. His father came out and appealed to him,

Then<n id="1" /> Jesus said,<n id="2" /> &#8220;Were<n id="3" /> not ten cleansed? Where are the other<n id="4" /> nine?

<t /><p class="bodytext">Now people<n id="1" /> were even bringing their babies<n id="2" /> to him for him to touch.<n id="3" /> But when the disciples saw it, they began to scold those who brought them.<n id="4" />

So<n id="1" /> Jesus stopped and ordered the beggar<n id="2" /> to be brought to him. When the man<n id="3" /> came near, Jesus<n id="4" /> asked him,

So<n id="1" /> they said, &#8220;Look, Lord, here are two swords.&#8221;<n id="2" /> Then he told them, &#8220;It is enough.&#8221;<n id="3" />p>

<t /><p class="bodytext">Then<n id="1" /> they arrested<n id="2" /> Jesus,<n id="3" /> led him away, and brought him into the high priest&#8217;s house.<n id="4" /> But Peter was following at a distance.

But the one who did not know his master&#8217;s will<n id="1" /> and did things worthy of punishment<n id="2" /> will receive a light beating.<n id="3" /> From everyone who has been given much, much will be required,<n id="4" /> and from the one who has been entrusted with much,<n id="5" /> even more will be asked.<n id="6" />p>
