It was he<n id="1" /> who gave some as apostles, some as prophets, some as evangelists, and some as pastors and teachers,<n id="2" />

But you did not learn about Christ like this,

to be renewed in the spirit of your mind,

But<n id="1" /> among you there must not be either sexual immorality, impurity of any kind,<n id="2" /> or greed, as these are not fitting for the saints.<n id="3" />

for you were at one time darkness, but now you are<n id="1" /> light in the Lord. Walk as children of the light &#8211;

Do not participate in the unfruitful deeds of darkness, but rather<n id="1" /> expose them.<n id="2" />

<p class="bodytext">But God, being rich in mercy, because of his great love with which he loved us,

But now in Christ Jesus you who used to be far away have been brought near by the blood of Christ.<n id="1" />

<p class="bodytext">But to each one of us grace was given according to the measure of the gift of Christ.

Now what is the meaning of &#8220;<b><i>he ascendedi>b>,&#8221; except that he also descended<n id="1" /> to the lower regions,<n id="2" /> namely, the earth?<n id="3" />

But practicing the truth in love,<n id="1" /> we will in all things grow up into Christ, who is the head.

Instead,<n id="1" /> be kind to one another, compassionate, forgiving one another, just as God in Christ also forgave you.<n id="2" />p>

But all things being exposed by the light are made evident.

This mystery is great &#8211; but I am actually<n id="1" /> speaking with reference to Christ and the church.

<p class="bodytext">Now to him who by the power that is working within us<n id="1" /> is able to do far beyond<n id="2" /> all that we ask or think,

The one who steals must steal no longer; rather he must labor, doing good with his own hands, so that he may have something to share with the one who has need.

Nevertheless,<n id="1" /> each one of you must also love his own wife as he loves himself,<n id="2" /> and the wife must<n id="3" /> respect<n id="4" /> her husband.p>
