Then<n id="1" /> he said to them, &#8220;The Sabbath was made for people,<n id="2" /> not people for the Sabbath.

<t /><p class="bodytext">Now<n id="1" /> after some days, when he returned to Capernaum,<n id="2" /> the news spread<n id="3" /> that he was at home.

And he was amazed because of their unbelief. Then<n id="1" /> he went around among the villages and taught.p>

and he would not permit anyone to carry merchandise<n id="1" /> through the temple courts.<n id="2" />

(For he knew that the chief priests had handed him over because of envy.)<n id="1" />

Because of the crowd, he told his disciples to have a small boat ready for him so the crowd<n id="1" /> would not press toward him.

When the sun came up it was scorched, and because it did not have sufficient root,<n id="1" /> it withered.

Although it grieved the king deeply,<n id="1" /> he did not want to reject her request because of his oath and his guests.

Then<n id="1" /> he said to her, &#8220;Because you said this, you may go. The demon has left your daughter.&#8221;

<t /><p class="bodytext">They went out from there and passed through Galilee. But<n id="1" /> Jesus<n id="2" /> did not want anyone to know,

It is easier for a camel<n id="1" /> to go through the eye of a needle<n id="2" /> than for a rich person to enter the kingdom of God.&#8221;

They discussed with one another, saying, &#8220;If we say, &#8216;From heaven,&#8217; he will say, &#8216;Then why did you not believe him?&#8217;

You will be hated by everyone because of my name.<n id="1" /> But the one who endures to the end will be saved.<n id="2" />p>

<t /><p class="bodytext">Jesus<n id="1" /> was going through the grain fields on a Sabbath, and his disciples began to pick some heads of wheat<n id="2" /> as they made their way.

Other seed fell on rocky ground<n id="1" /> where it did not have much soil. It sprang up at once because the soil was not deep.<n id="2" />

But<n id="1" /> they have no root in themselves and do not endure.<n id="2" /> Then, when trouble or persecution comes because of the word, immediately they fall away.

For his hands and feet had often been bound with chains and shackles,<n id="1" /> but<n id="2" /> he had torn the chains apart and broken the shackles in pieces. No one was strong enough to subdue him.

Each night and every day among the tombs and in the mountains, he would cry out and cut himself with stones.

<t /><p class="bodytext">Then<n id="1" /> Jesus<n id="2" /> went out again from the region of Tyre<n id="3" /> and came through Sidon<n id="4" /> to the Sea of Galilee in the region of the Decapolis.<n id="5" />

For this reason I tell you, whatever you pray and ask for, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours.
