For none of us lives for himself and none dies for himself.

Therefore, each of us will give an account of himself to God. ¹ 

So you too consider yourselves ¹  dead to sin, but ²  alive to God in Christ Jesus.

But we who are strong ought to bear with the failings of the weak, and not just please ourselves. ¹ 

For whenever the Gentiles, ¹  who do not have the law, do by nature ²  the things required by the law, ³  these who do not have the law are a law to themselves.

Without being weak in faith, he considered ¹  his own body as dead ²  (because he was about one hundred years old) and the deadness of Sarah’s womb.

But God demonstrates his own love for us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.

Do you not know that if you present yourselves ¹  as obedient slaves, ²  you are slaves of the one you obey, either of sin resulting in death, or obedience resulting in righteousness? ³ 

Live in harmony with one another; do not be haughty but associate with the lowly. ¹  Do not be conceited. ² 

Do not avenge yourselves, dear friends, but give place to God’s wrath, ¹  for it is written, “Vengeance is mine, I will repay,” ²  says the Lord.

So the person who resists such authority ¹  resists the ordinance of God, and those who resist will incur judgment

I know and am convinced in the Lord Jesus that there is nothing unclean in itself; still, it is unclean to the one who considers it unclean.

The faith ¹  you have, keep to yourself before God. Blessed is the one who does not judge himself by what he approves.

For even Christ did not please himself, but just as it is written, “The insults of those who insult you have fallen on me.” ¹ 

who risked their own necks for my life. Not only I, but all the churches of the Gentiles are grateful to them.

and do not present your members to sin as instruments ¹  to be used for unrighteousness, ²  but present yourselves to God as those who are alive from the dead and your members to God as instruments ³  to be used for righteousness.

For God achieved what the law could not do because ¹  it was weakened through the flesh. By sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh and concerning sin, he condemned sin in the flesh,

Not only this, but we ourselves also, who have the firstfruits of the Spirit, ¹  groan inwardly as we eagerly await our adoption, ²  the redemption of our bodies. ³ 

For I do not want you to be ignorant of this mystery, brothers and sisters, ¹  so that you may not be conceited: A partial hardening has happened to Israel ²  until the full number ³  of the Gentiles has come in.

For these are the kind who do not serve our Lord Christ, but their own appetites. By their smooth talk and flattery they deceive the minds ¹  of the naive.
