For<n id="1" /> he chose us in Christ<n id="2" /> before the foundation of the world that we may be holy and unblemished<n id="3" /> in his sight<n id="4" /> in love.<n id="5" />

to the praise of the glory of his grace<n id="1" /> that he has freely bestowed on us in his dearly loved Son.<n id="2" />

that he lavished on us in all wisdom and insight.

so that we, who were the first to set our hope<n id="1" /> on Christ,<n id="2" /> would be to the praise of his glory.

He did this by predestining<n id="1" /> us to adoption as his<n id="2" /> sons<n id="3" /> through Jesus Christ, according to the pleasure<n id="4" /> of his will &#8211;

<p class="bodytext">But God, being rich in mercy, because of his great love with which he loved us,

even though we were dead in transgressions, made us alive together with Christ &#8211; by grace you are saved!<n id="1" /> &#8211;

<t /><p class="bodytext">Blessed<n id="1" /> is<n id="2" /> the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed<n id="3" /> us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly realms in Christ.

and what is the incomparable<n id="1" /> greatness of his power toward<n id="2" /> us who believe, as displayed in<n id="3" /> the exercise of his immense strength.<n id="4" />

to demonstrate in the coming ages<n id="1" /> the surpassing wealth of his grace in kindness toward<n id="2" /> us in Christ Jesus.
