From the descendants<n id="1" /> of this man<n id="2" /> God brought to Israel a Savior, Jesus, just as he promised.<n id="3" />

You know<n id="1" /> the message<n id="2" /> he sent to the people<n id="3" /> of Israel, proclaiming the good news of peace<n id="4" /> through<n id="5" /> Jesus Christ<n id="6" /> (he is Lord<n id="7" /> of all) &#8211;

Before<n id="1" /> Jesus<n id="2" /> arrived, John<n id="3" /> had proclaimed a baptism for repentance<n id="4" /> to all the people of Israel.

<p class="bodytext">So when they had gathered together, they began to ask him,<n id="1" /> &#8220;Lord, is this the time when you are restoring the kingdom to Israel?&#8221;

<p class="bodyblock">Therefore let all the house of Israel know beyond a doubt<n id="1" /> that God has made this Jesus whom you crucified<n id="2" /> both Lord<n id="3" /> and Christ.&#8221;<n id="4" />p>

God exalted him<n id="1" /> to his right hand as Leader<n id="2" /> and Savior, to give repentance to Israel and forgiveness of sins.<n id="3" />

But when he was about forty years old, it entered his mind<n id="1" /> to visit his fellow countrymen<n id="2" /> the Israelites.<n id="3" />

This is the Moses who said to the Israelites,<n id="1" /> &#8216;<b><i>God will raise up for you a prophet like me from among your brothersi>b>.&#8217;<n id="2" />

So for this reason I have asked to see you and speak with you, for I am bound with this chain because of the hope of Israel.&#8221;<n id="1" />

<p class="bodytext">&#8220;For indeed both Herod and Pontius Pilate, with the Gentiles and the people of Israel, assembled together in this city against<n id="1" /> your holy servant Jesus, whom you anointed,<n id="2" />

But God turned away from them and gave them over<n id="1" /> to worship the host<n id="2" /> of heaven, as it is written in the book of the prophets: &#8216;<b><i>It was not to me that you offered slain animals and sacrificesi>b><n id="3" /> <b><i>forty years in the wilderness, was it,i>b><n id="4" /> <b><i>house of Israel?i>b>

But the Lord said to him, &#8220;Go, because this man is my chosen instrument<n id="1" /> to carry my name before Gentiles and kings and the people of Israel.<n id="2" />

The God of this people Israel<n id="1" /> chose our ancestors<n id="2" /> and made the people great<n id="3" /> during their stay as foreigners<n id="4" /> in the country<n id="5" /> of Egypt, and with uplifted arm<n id="6" /> he led them out of it.

let it be known to all of you and to all the people of Israel that by the name of Jesus Christ<n id="1" /> the Nazarene whom you crucified, whom God raised from the dead, this man stands before you healthy.

When they heard this, they entered the temple courts<n id="1" /> at daybreak and began teaching.<n id="2" />p> <p class="bodytext">Now when the high priest and those who were with him arrived, they summoned the Sanhedrin<n id="3" /> &#8211; that is, the whole high council<n id="4" /> of the Israelites<n id="5" /> &#8211; and sent to the jail to have the apostles<n id="6" /> brought before them.<n id="7" />
