<t /><p class="bodytext">Now<n id="1" /> Jesus&#8217;<n id="2" /> parents went to Jerusalem<n id="3" /> every<n id="4" /> year for the feast of the Passover.<n id="5" />

When<n id="1" /> he was twelve years old,<n id="2" /> they went up<n id="3" /> according to custom.

Then<n id="1" /> they departed and went throughout<n id="2" /> the villages, proclaiming the good news<n id="3" /> and healing people everywhere.p>

So too a Levite, when he came up to<n id="1" /> the place and saw him,<n id="2" /> passed by on the other side.

But<n id="1" /> a Samaritan<n id="2" /> who was traveling<n id="3" /> came to where the injured man<n id="4" /> was, and when he saw him, he felt compassion for him.<n id="5" />

<p class="poetry">Give us each day our daily bread,<n id="1" />p>

<t /><p class="bodytext">Then<n id="1" /> Jesus<n id="2" /> traveled throughout<n id="3" /> towns<n id="4" /> and villages, teaching and making his way toward<n id="5" /> Jerusalem.<n id="6" />

It will be the same on the day the Son of Man is revealed.

he was chosen by lot, according to the custom of the priesthood,<n id="1" /> to enter<n id="2" /> the holy place<n id="3" /> of the Lord and burn incense.

and to offer a sacrifice according to what is specified in the law of the Lord, <b><i>a pair of dovesi>b><n id="1" /> <b><i>or two young pigeonsi>b>.<n id="2" />p>

<p class="bodytext">So<n id="1" /> when Joseph and Mary<n id="2" /> had performed<n id="3" /> everything according to the law of the Lord,<n id="4" /> they returned to Galilee, to their own town<n id="5" /> of Nazareth.<n id="6" />

<t /><p class="bodytext">While a large crowd was gathering and people were coming to Jesus<n id="1" /> from one town after another,<n id="2" /> he spoke to them<n id="3" /> in a parable:

But Jesus said to him, &#8220;Do not stop him, for whoever is not against you is for you.&#8221;p>

Do not carry<n id="1" /> a money bag,<n id="2" /> a traveler&#8217;s bag,<n id="3" /> or sandals, and greet no one on the road.<n id="4" />

<p class="bodytext">Then<n id="1" /> Jesus<n id="2" /> turned<n id="3" /> to his<n id="4" /> disciples and said privately, &#8220;Blessed<n id="5" /> are the eyes that see what you see!

Now by chance<n id="1" /> a priest was going down that road, but<n id="2" /> when he saw the injured man<n id="3" /> he passed by<n id="4" /> on the other side.<n id="5" />

Whoever is not with me is against me,<n id="1" /> and whoever does not gather with me scatters.<n id="2" />p>

Then<n id="1" /> after he had spent everything, a severe famine took place in that country, and he began to be in need.
