Rejoice with those who rejoice, weep with those who weep.

And he went outside and wept bitterly.<n id="1" />p>

But Mary stood outside the tomb weeping. As she wept, she bent down and looked into the tomb.

Now they were all<n id="1" /> wailing and mourning<n id="2" /> for her, but he said, &#8220;Stop your weeping; she is not dead but asleep.&#8221;

But Jesus turned to them and said, &#8220;Daughters of Jerusalem,<n id="1" /> do not weep for me, but weep for yourselves<n id="2" /> and for your children.

When Jesus saw her weeping, and the people<n id="1" /> who had come with her weeping, he was intensely moved<n id="2" /> in spirit and greatly distressed.<n id="3" />

those with tears like those not weeping, those who rejoice like those not rejoicing, those who buy like those without possessions,

She went out and told those who were with him, while they were mourning and weeping.

<p class="poetry">&#8220;Blessed are you who hunger<n id="1" /> now, for you will be satisfied.<n id="2" />p> <p class="poetry">&#8220;Blessed are you who weep now, for you will laugh.<n id="3" />p>

<t /><p class="bodytext">Now<n id="1" /> when Jesus<n id="2" /> approached<n id="3" /> and saw the city, he wept over it,

They came to the house of the synagogue ruler where<n id="1" /> he saw noisy confusion and people weeping and wailing loudly.<n id="2" />

When he entered he said to them, &#8220;Why are you distressed and weeping? The child is not dead but asleep.&#8221;

<p class="poetry">&#8220;Woe to you who are well satisfied with food<n id="1" /> now, for you will be hungry.p> <p class="poetry">&#8220;Woe to you<n id="2" /> who laugh<n id="3" /> now, for you will mourn and weep.p>

When<n id="1" /> the Lord saw her, he had compassion<n id="2" /> for her and said to her, &#8220;Do not weep.&#8221;<n id="3" />

Grieve, mourn,<n id="1" /> and weep. Turn your laughter<n id="2" /> into mourning and your joy into despair.

<t /><p class="bodytext">Come now, you rich! Weep and cry aloud<n id="1" /> over the miseries that are coming on you.

So<n id="1" /> I began weeping bitterly<n id="2" /> because no one was found who was worthy to open the scroll or to look into it.

Then Peter remembered what Jesus had said: &#8220;Before the rooster crows, you will deny me three times.&#8221; And he went outside and wept bitterly.<n id="1" />p>

They said<n id="1" /> to her, &#8220;Woman,<n id="2" /> why are you weeping?&#8221; Mary replied,<n id="3" /> &#8220;They have taken my Lord away, and I do not know where they have put him!&#8221;
