<t /><p class="bodytext">For he did not put the world to come,<n id="1" /> about which we are speaking,<n id="2" /> under the control of angels.

<t /><p class="bodytext">Now<n id="1" /> in those days a decree<n id="2" /> went out from Caesar<n id="3" /> Augustus<n id="4" /> to register<n id="5" /> all the empire<n id="6" /> for taxes.

<p class="bodytext">Then<n id="1" /> the devil<n id="2" /> led him up<n id="3" /> to a high place<n id="4" /> and showed him in a flash all the kingdoms of the world.

People will be fainting from fear<n id="1" /> and from the expectation of what is coming on the world, for <i>the powers of the heavens will be shakeni>.<n id="2" />

But when he again brings<n id="1" /> his firstborn into the world, he says, &#8220;<b><i>Let all the angels of God worship him!i>b>&#8221;<n id="2" />

And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached throughout the whole inhabited earth as a testimony to all the nations,<n id="1" /> and then the end will come.p>

When they did not find them, they dragged<n id="1" /> Jason and some of the brothers before the city officials,<n id="2" /> screaming, &#8220;These people who have stirred up trouble<n id="3" /> throughout the world<n id="4" /> have come here too,

For we have found<n id="1" /> this man to be a troublemaker,<n id="2" /> one who stirs up riots<n id="3" /> among all the Jews throughout the world, and a ringleader<n id="4" /> of the sect of the Nazarenes.<n id="5" />

One of them, named Agabus, got up<n id="1" /> and predicted<n id="2" /> by the Spirit that a severe<n id="3" /> famine<n id="4" /> was about to come over the whole inhabited world.<n id="5" /> (This<n id="6" /> took place during the reign of Claudius.)<n id="7" />

because he has set<n id="1" /> a day on which he is going to judge the world<n id="2" /> in righteousness, by a man whom he designated,<n id="3" /> having provided proof to everyone by raising<n id="4" /> him from the dead.&#8221;p>

<p class="bodytext">But I ask, have they<n id="1" /> not heard?<n id="2" /> Yes, they have:<n id="3" /> <i><b>Their voice has gone out to all the earthb>, <b>and their words to the ends of the worldb>i>.<n id="4" />

Because you have kept<n id="1" /> my admonition<n id="2" /> to endure steadfastly,<n id="3" /> I will also keep you from the hour of testing that is about to come on the whole world to test those who live on the earth.

So<n id="1" /> that huge dragon &#8211; the ancient serpent, the one called the devil and Satan, who deceives the whole world &#8211; was thrown down to the earth, and his angels along with him.

For they are the spirits of the demons performing signs who go out to the kings of the earth<n id="1" /> to bring them together for the battle that will take place on the great day of God, the All-Powerful.<n id="2" />p>

There is danger not only that this business of ours will come into disrepute,<n id="1" /> but also that the temple of the great goddess Artemis<n id="2" /> will be regarded as nothing,<n id="3" /> and she whom all the province of Asia<n id="4" /> and the world worship will suffer the loss of her greatness.&#8221;<n id="5" />p>
