<t /><p class="bodytext">We are Jews by birth<n id="1" /> and not Gentile sinners,<n id="2" />

This persuasion<n id="1" /> does not come from the one who calls you!

But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the law.

There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave<n id="1" /> nor free, there is neither male nor female<n id="2" /> &#8211; for all of you are one in Christ Jesus.

But I saw none of the other apostles<n id="1" /> except James the Lord&#8217;s brother.

I assure you<n id="1" /> that, before God, I am not lying about what I am writing to you!<n id="2" />

Now an intermediary is not for one party alone, but God is one.<n id="1" />

<t /><p class="bodytext">Formerly when you did not know God, you were enslaved to beings that by nature are not gods at all.<n id="1" />

<p class="bodytext">They court you eagerly,<n id="1" /> but for no good purpose;<n id="2" /> they want to exclude you, so that you would seek them eagerly.<n id="3" />

<t /><p class="bodytext">Tell me, you who want to be under the law, do you not understand the law?<n id="1" />

Therefore, brothers and sisters,<n id="1" /> we are not children of the slave woman but of the free woman.p>

But I say, live<n id="1" /> by the Spirit and you will not carry out the desires of the flesh.<n id="2" />

gentleness, and<n id="1" /> self-control. Against such things there is no law.

But when I saw that they were not behaving consistently with the truth of the gospel, I said to Cephas<n id="1" /> in front of them all, &#8220;If you, although you are a Jew, live like a Gentile and not like a Jew, how can you try to force<n id="2" /> the Gentiles to live like Jews?&#8221;p>

For it is written:p> <p class="poetry">&#8220;<b><i>Rejoice, O barren woman who does not bear children;i>b><n id="1" />p> <p class="poetry"><b><i>break forth and shout, you who have no birth pains,i>b>p> <p class="poetry"><b><i>because the children of the desolate woman are more numerousi>b>p> <p class="poetry"><b><i>than those of the woman who has a husbandi>b><sc>.&#8221;sc><n id="2" />p>

<t /><p class="bodytext">Now<n id="1" /> I want you to know, brothers and sisters,<n id="2" /> that the gospel I preached is not of human origin.<n id="3" />

I do not set aside<n id="1" /> God&#8217;s grace, because if righteousness<n id="2" /> could come through the law, then Christ died for nothing!<n id="3" />p>

But the law is not based on faith,<n id="1" /> but <b><i>the one who doesi>b> the works of the law<n id="2" /> <b><i>will live by themi>b>.<n id="3" />

Do not be deceived. God will not be made a fool.<n id="1" /> For a person<n id="2" /> will reap what he sows,

yet we know<n id="1" /> that no one<n id="2" /> is justified by the works of the law<n id="3" /> but by the faithfulness of Jesus Christ.<n id="4" /> And<n id="5" /> we have come to believe in Christ Jesus, so that we may be justified by the faithfulness of Christ<n id="6" /> and not by the works of the law, because by the works of the law no one<n id="7" /> will be justified.
