Am I now trying to gain the approval of people,<n id="1" /> or of God? Or am I trying to please people?<n id="2" /> If I were still trying to please<n id="3" /> people,<n id="4" /> I would not be a slave<n id="5" /> of Christ!p>

So then, no more boasting about mere mortals!<n id="1" /> For everything belongs to you,

But the one who prophesies speaks to people for their strengthening,<n id="1" /> encouragement, and consolation.

Obey<n id="1" /> with enthusiasm, as though serving the Lord<n id="2" /> and not people,

Let everyone see your gentleness.<n id="1" /> The Lord is near!

Whatever you are doing,<n id="1" /> work at it with enthusiasm,<n id="2" /> as to the Lord and not for people,<n id="3" />

<p class="bodytext">For the grace of God has appeared, bringing salvation to all people.<n id="1" />

And just as people<n id="1" /> are appointed to die once, and then to face judgment,<n id="2" />

<p class="bodytext">&#8220;For if you forgive others<n id="1" /> their sins, your heavenly Father will also forgive you.

When<n id="1" /> the crowd saw this, they were afraid<n id="2" /> and honored God who had given such authority to men.<n id="3" />p>

Jesus<n id="1" /> looked at them and replied, &#8220;This is impossible for mere humans,<n id="2" /> but for God all things are possible.&#8221;

In the same way, on the outside you look righteous to people, but inside you are full of hypocrisy and lawlessness.p>

&#8220;This is what<n id="1" /> the Lord has done for me at the time<n id="2" /> when he has been gracious to me,<n id="3" /> to take away my disgrace<n id="4" /> among people.&#8221;<n id="5" />p>

Then the woman left her water jar, went off into the town and said to the people,<n id="1" />

But Peter and the apostles replied,<n id="1" /> &#8220;We must obey<n id="2" /> God rather than people.<n id="3" />

Then he said to the council,<n id="1" /> &#8220;Men of Israel,<n id="2" /> pay close attention to<n id="3" /> what you are about to do to these men.

who<n id="1" /> have risked their lives<n id="2" /> for the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.<n id="3" />
