and he took it and ate it in front of them.p>

But the one who denies me before men will be denied before God’s angels.

So then, if<n id="1" /> you will worship<n id="2" /> me, all this will be<n id="3" /> yours.&#8221;

But these words seemed like pure nonsense<n id="1" /> to them, and they did not believe them.

But<n id="1" /> Jesus<n id="2" /> said to them, &#8220;You are the ones who justify yourselves in men&#8217;s eyes,<n id="3" /> but God knows your hearts. For what is highly prized<n id="4" /> among men is utterly detestable<n id="5" /> in God&#8217;s sight.p>

<p class="poetry">And you, child,<n id="1" /> will be called the prophet<n id="2" /> of the Most High.<n id="3" />p> <p class="poetry">For you will go before<n id="4" /> the Lord to prepare his ways,<n id="5" />p>

Aren&#8217;t five sparrows sold for two pennies?<n id="1" /> Yet not one of them is forgotten before God.

Then you will begin to say, &#8216;We ate and drank in your presence, and you taught in our streets.&#8217;<n id="1" />

In the same way, I tell you, there is joy in the presence of God&#8217;s angels<n id="1" /> over one sinner who repents.&#8221;p>

for he will be great in the sight of<n id="1" /> the Lord. He<n id="2" /> must never drink wine or strong drink, and he will be filled with the Holy Spirit, even before his birth.<n id="3" />

And he will go as forerunner before the Lord<n id="1" /> in the spirit and power of Elijah, to turn the hearts of the fathers back to their children and the disobedient to the wisdom of the just,<n id="2" /> to make ready for the Lord a people prepared for him.&#8221;p>

Just then<n id="1" /> some men showed up, carrying a paralyzed man<n id="2" /> on a stretcher.<n id="3" /> They<n id="4" /> were trying to bring him in and place him before Jesus.<n id="5" />

Immediately<n id="1" /> he stood up before them, picked<n id="2" /> up the stretcher<n id="3" /> he had been lying on, and went home, glorifying<n id="4" /> God.

I will get up and go to my father and say to him, &#8220;Father, I have sinned<n id="1" /> against heaven<n id="2" /> and against<n id="3" /> you.

The<n id="1" /> angel answered him, &#8220;I am Gabriel, who stands<n id="2" /> in the presence of God, and I was sent to speak to you and to bring<n id="3" /> you this good news.

When<n id="1" /> the woman saw that she could not escape notice,<n id="2" /> she came trembling and fell down before him. In<n id="3" /> the presence of all the people, she explained why<n id="4" /> she had touched him and how she had been immediately healed.

But when you are invited, go and take the least important place, so that when your host<n id="1" /> approaches he will say to you, &#8216;Friend, move up here to a better place.&#8217;<n id="2" /> Then you will be honored in the presence of all who share the meal with you.

Then<n id="1" /> his son said to him, &#8216;Father, I have sinned against heaven<n id="2" /> and against you; I am no longer worthy to be called your son.&#8217;<n id="3" />

and said to them, &#8220;You brought me this man as one who was misleading<n id="1" /> the people. When I examined him before you, I<n id="2" /> did not find this man guilty<n id="3" /> of anything you accused him of doing.
