Because they were afraid<n id="1" /> that we would run aground on the rocky coast,<n id="2" /> they threw out<n id="3" /> four anchors from the stern and wished<n id="4" /> for day to appear.<n id="5" />

So Paul stood up,<n id="1" /> gestured<n id="2" /> with his hand and said,p> <p class="bodytext">&#8220;Men of Israel,<n id="3" /> and you Gentiles who fear God,<n id="4" /> listen:

Brothers,<n id="1" /> descendants<n id="2" /> of Abraham&#8217;s family,<n id="3" /> and those Gentiles among you who fear God,<n id="4" /> the message<n id="5" /> of this salvation has been sent to us.

After the crew<n id="1" /> had hoisted it aboard,<n id="2" /> they used supports<n id="3" /> to undergird the ship. Fearing they would run aground<n id="4" /> on the Syrtis,<n id="5" /> they lowered the sea anchor,<n id="6" /> thus letting themselves be driven along.
