so that times of refreshing<n id="1" /> may come from the presence of the Lord,<n id="2" /> and so that he may send the Messiah<n id="3" /> appointed<n id="4" /> for you &#8211; that is, Jesus.

This Jesus God raised up, and we are all witnesses of it.<n id="1" />

From the descendants<n id="1" /> of this man<n id="2" /> God brought to Israel a Savior, Jesus, just as he promised.<n id="3" />

The God of our forefathers<n id="1" /> raised up Jesus, whom you seized and killed by hanging him on a tree.<n id="2" />

And every day both in the temple courts<n id="1" /> and from house to house, they did not stop teaching and proclaiming the good news<n id="2" /> that Jesus was the Christ.<n id="3" />p>

and immediately he began to proclaim Jesus in the synagogues,<n id="1" /> saying, &#8220;This man is the Son of God.&#8221;<n id="2" />

for he refuted the Jews vigorously<n id="1" /> in public debate,<n id="2" /> demonstrating from the scriptures that the Christ<n id="3" /> was Jesus.<n id="4" />p>

testifying<n id="1" /> to both Jews and Greeks about repentance toward God and faith in our Lord Jesus.<n id="2" />

<p class="bodyblock">Therefore let all the house of Israel know beyond a doubt<n id="1" /> that God has made this Jesus whom you crucified<n id="2" /> both Lord<n id="3" /> and Christ.&#8221;<n id="4" />p>

But Stephen,<n id="1" /> full<n id="2" /> of the Holy Spirit, looked intently<n id="3" /> toward heaven and saw the glory of God, and Jesus standing<n id="4" /> at the right hand of God.

&#8220;Brothers,<n id="1" /> the scripture had to be fulfilled that the Holy Spirit foretold through<n id="2" /> David concerning Judas &#8211; who became the guide for those who arrested Jesus &#8211;

The God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob,<n id="1" /> the God of our forefathers,<n id="2" /> has glorified<n id="3" /> his servant<n id="4" /> Jesus, whom you handed over and rejected<n id="5" /> in the presence of Pilate after he had decided<n id="6" /> to release him.
