Some stood up and gave this false testimony against him:<n id="1" />

They were even more astonished and said<n id="1" /> to one another, &#8220;Then<n id="2" /> who can be saved?&#8221;<n id="3" />

And the demonic spirits<n id="1" /> begged him, &#8220;Send us into the pigs. Let us enter them.&#8221;

People were completely astounded and said, &#8220;He has done everything well. He even makes the deaf hear and the mute speak.&#8221;p>

<p class="bodytext">Then<n id="1" /> they asked him,<n id="2" /> &#8220;Why do the experts in the law<n id="3" /> say that Elijah must come first?&#8221;

They discussed with one another, saying, &#8220;If we say, &#8216;From heaven,&#8217; he will say, &#8216;Then why did you not believe him?&#8217;

<t /><p class="bodytext">Sadducees<n id="1" /> (who say there is no resurrection)<n id="2" /> also came to him and asked him,<n id="3" />

Many will come in my name, saying, &#8216;I am he,&#8217;<n id="1" /> and they will mislead many.

<p class="bodytext">While he was still speaking, people came from the synagogue ruler&#8217;s<n id="1" /> house saying, &#8220;Your daughter has died. Why trouble the teacher any longer?&#8221;

They said,<n id="1" /> &#8220;John the Baptist, others say Elijah,<n id="2" /> and still others, one of the prophets.&#8221;

<t /><p class="bodytext">Then<n id="1" /> James and John, the sons of Zebedee, came to him and said, &#8220;Teacher, we want you to do for us whatever we ask.&#8221;

Jesus stopped and said, &#8220;Call him.&#8221; So<n id="1" /> they called the blind man and said to him, &#8220;Have courage! Get up! He is calling you.&#8221;

Those who passed by defamed him, shaking their heads and saying, &#8220;Aha! You who can destroy the temple and rebuild it in three days,

When the Sabbath came, he began to teach in the synagogue.<n id="1" /> Many who heard him were astonished, saying, &#8220;Where did he get these ideas?<n id="2" /> And what is this wisdom that has been given to him? What are these miracles that are done through his hands?
