<p class="bodytext">Both the apostles and the elders met together to deliberate<n id="1" /> about this matter.

Some were convinced<n id="1" /> by what he said,<n id="2" /> but others refused<n id="3" /> to believe.

<t /><p class="bodytext">Now the apostles and the brothers who were throughout Judea heard that the Gentiles too had accepted<n id="1" /> the word of God.<n id="2" />

And the disciples were filled with joy<n id="1" /> and with the Holy Spirit.p>

(Now there were about twelve men in all.)<n id="1" />p>

(Now the men<n id="1" /> who were traveling with him stood there speechless,<n id="2" /> because they heard the voice but saw no one.)<n id="3" />

<p class="bodytext">Now when they heard about<n id="1" /> the resurrection from the dead, some began to scoff,<n id="2" /> but others said, &#8220;We will hear you again about this.&#8221;

So the chief priests and the most prominent men<n id="1" /> of the Jews brought formal charges<n id="2" /> against Paul to him.

After this had happened, many of the people on the island who were sick<n id="1" /> also came and were healed.<n id="2" />

<t /><p class="bodytext">While Peter and John<n id="1" /> were speaking to the people, the priests and the commander<n id="2" /> of the temple guard<n id="3" /> and the Sadducees<n id="4" /> came up<n id="5" /> to them,

<t /><p class="bodytext">When they were released, Peter and John<n id="1" /> went to their fellow believers<n id="2" /> and reported everything the high priests and the elders had said to them.

The<n id="1" /> circumcised believers<n id="2" /> who had accompanied Peter were greatly astonished<n id="3" /> that<n id="4" /> the gift of the Holy Spirit<n id="5" /> had been poured out<n id="6" /> even on the Gentiles,

But they said to her, &#8220;You&#8217;ve lost your mind!&#8221;<n id="1" /> But she kept insisting that it was Peter,<n id="2" /> and they kept saying,<n id="3" /> &#8220;It is his angel!&#8221;<n id="4" />

But the population<n id="1" /> of the city was divided; some<n id="2" /> sided with the Jews, and some with the apostles.

So when the crowds saw what Paul had done, they shouted<n id="1" /> in the Lycaonian language,<n id="2" /> &#8220;The gods have come down to us in human form!&#8221;<n id="3" />

They sent this letter with them:<n id="1" />p> <p class="BlockQuote">From the apostles<n id="2" /> and elders, your brothers,<n id="3" /> to the Gentile brothers and sisters<n id="4" /> in Antioch,<n id="5" /> Syria,<n id="6" /> and Cilicia, greetings!

When I was in Jerusalem,<n id="1" /> the chief priests and the elders of the Jews informed<n id="2" /> me about him,<n id="3" /> asking for a sentence of condemnation<n id="4" /> against him.

All who believed were together and held<n id="1" /> everything in common,

And now, brothers, I know you acted in ignorance,<n id="1" /> as your rulers did too.
