(because they said, &#8220;He has an unclean spirit&#8221;<n id="1" />).p>

So they began to discuss with one another about having no bread.<n id="1" />

Others said, &#8220;He is Elijah.&#8221; Others said, &#8220;He is a prophet, like one of the prophets from the past.&#8221;

<p class="bodytext">Then<n id="1" /> they asked him,<n id="2" /> &#8220;Why do the experts in the law<n id="3" /> say that Elijah must come first?&#8221;

The experts in the law<n id="1" /> who came down from Jerusalem<n id="2" /> said, &#8220;He is possessed by Beelzebul,&#8221;<n id="3" /> and, &#8220;By the ruler<n id="4" /> of demons he casts out demons.&#8221;

They said,<n id="1" /> &#8220;John the Baptist, others say Elijah,<n id="2" /> and still others, one of the prophets.&#8221;

For I tell you the truth,<n id="1" /> whoever gives you a cup of water because<n id="2" /> you bear Christ&#8217;s<n id="3" /> name will never lose his reward.p>

<t /><p class="bodytext">Then<n id="1" /> Jesus said to them, &#8220;You will all fall away, for it is written,p> <p class="otpoetry">&#8216;<b><i>I will strike the shepherd,i>b>p> <p class="otpoetry"><i><b>and the sheep will be scatteredb>.i>&#8217;<n id="2" />p>

&#8220;We heard him say, &#8216;I will destroy this temple made with hands and in three days build another not made with hands.&#8217;&#8221;

When they found him, they said, &#8220;Everyone is looking for you.&#8221;

<t /><p class="bodytext">Now<n id="1" /> after some days, when he returned to Capernaum,<n id="2" /> the news spread<n id="3" /> that he was at home.

When his family<n id="1" /> heard this they went out to restrain him, for they said, &#8220;He is out of his mind.&#8221;

for she kept saying,<n id="1" /> &#8220;If only I touch his clothes, I will be healed.&#8221;<n id="2" />

He said, &#8220;What comes out of a person defiles him.

Regaining his sight<n id="1" /> he said, &#8220;I see people, but they look like trees walking.&#8221;

So also you, when you see these things happening, know<n id="1" /> that he is near, right at the door.

(For he knew that the chief priests had handed him over because of envy.)<n id="1" />

But<n id="1" /> when they looked up, they saw that the stone, which was very large, had been rolled back.

And when they heard that he was alive and had been seen by her, they did not believe.p>

When the experts in the law<n id="1" /> and the Pharisees<n id="2" /> saw that he was eating with sinners and tax collectors, they said to his disciples, &#8220;Why does he eat with tax collectors and sinners?&#8221;<n id="3" />
