The doorkeeper<n id="1" /> opens the door<n id="2" /> for him,<n id="3" /> and the sheep hear his voice. He<n id="4" /> calls his own sheep by name and leads them out.<n id="5" />

Go<n id="1" /> instead to the lost sheep of the house of Israel.

He<n id="1" /> will put the sheep on his right and the goats on his left.

The hired hand,<n id="1" /> who is not a shepherd and does not own sheep, sees the wolf coming and abandons<n id="2" /> the sheep and runs away.<n id="3" /> So the wolf attacks<n id="4" /> the sheep and scatters them.

So<n id="1" /> he answered, &#8220;I was sent only to the lost sheep of the house of Israel.&#8221;

<n id="1" /><p class="bodytext">He found in the temple courts<n id="2" /> those who were selling oxen and sheep and doves, and the money changers sitting at tables.<n id="3" />

All who came before me were<n id="1" /> thieves and robbers, but the sheep did not listen to them.<n id="2" />

My sheep listen to my voice, and I know them, and they follow me.

As it is written, &#8220;<b><i>For your sake we encounter death all day long; we were considered as sheep to be slaughteredi>b>.&#8221;<n id="1" />

For you were <b><i>going astray like sheepi>b><n id="1" /> but now you have turned back to the shepherd and guardian of your souls.p>

When<n id="1" /> he saw the crowds, he had compassion on them because they were bewildered and helpless,<n id="2" /> like sheep without a shepherd.

<t /><p class="bodytext">&#8220;I<n id="1" /> am sending you out like sheep surrounded by wolves,<n id="2" /> so be wise as serpents and innocent as doves.

All<n id="1" /> the nations will be assembled before him, and he will separate people one from another like a shepherd separates the sheep from the goats.

As Jesus<n id="1" /> came ashore<n id="2" /> he saw the large crowd and he had compassion on them, because they were like sheep without a shepherd. So<n id="3" /> he taught them many things.p>

<t /><p class="bodytext">Then<n id="1" /> Jesus said to them, &#8220;You will all fall away, for it is written,p> <p class="otpoetry">&#8216;<b><i>I will strike the shepherd,i>b>p> <p class="otpoetry"><i><b>and the sheep will be scatteredb>.i>&#8217;<n id="2" />p>

When he has brought all his own sheep<n id="1" /> out, he goes ahead of them, and the sheep follow him because they recognize<n id="2" /> his voice.

What do you think? If someone<n id="1" /> owns a hundred<n id="2" /> sheep and one of them goes astray, will he not leave the ninety-nine on the mountains and go look for the one that went astray?<n id="3" />

&#8220;Which one<n id="1" /> of you, if he has a hundred<n id="2" /> sheep and loses one of them, would not leave the ninety-nine in the open pasture<n id="3" /> and go look for<n id="4" /> the one that is lost until he finds it?<n id="5" />

So he made a whip of cords<n id="1" /> and drove them all out of the temple courts,<n id="2" /> with the sheep and the oxen. He scattered the coins of the money changers<n id="3" /> and overturned their tables.
