<p class="bodytext">When they had brought them, they stood them before the council,<n id="1" /> and the high priest questioned<n id="2" /> them,

But a Pharisee<n id="1" /> whose name was Gamaliel,<n id="2" /> a teacher of the law who was respected by all the people, stood up<n id="3" /> in the council<n id="4" /> and ordered the men to be put outside for a short time.

All<n id="1" /> who were sitting in the council<n id="2" /> looked intently at Stephen<n id="3" /> and saw his face was like the face of an angel.<n id="4" />p>

So now you and the council<n id="1" /> request the commanding officer<n id="2" /> to bring him down to you, as if you were going to determine<n id="3" /> his case<n id="4" /> by conducting a more thorough inquiry.<n id="5" /> We are ready to kill him<n id="6" /> before he comes near this place.&#8221;<n id="7" />p>

But I say to you that anyone who is angry with a brother<n id="1" /> will be subjected to judgment. And whoever insults<n id="2" /> a brother will be brought before<n id="3" /> the council,<n id="4" /> and whoever says &#8216;Fool&#8217;<n id="5" /> will be sent<n id="6" /> to fiery hell.<n id="7" />
