For just as the Father has life in himself, thus he has granted the Son to have life in himself,

The one who has the Son<n id="1" /> has this<n id="2" /> eternal<n id="3" /> life; the one who does not have the Son of God does not have this<n id="4" /> eternal<n id="5" /> life.p>

And these will depart into eternal punishment, but the righteous into eternal life.&#8221;p>

so that everyone who believes in him may have eternal life.&#8221;<n id="1" />p>

but you are not willing to come to me so that you may have life.p>

I tell you the solemn truth,<n id="1" /> the one who believes<n id="2" /> has eternal life.<n id="3" />

eternal life to those who by perseverance in good works seek glory and honor and immortality,

and I died. So<n id="1" /> I found that the very commandment that was intended to bring life brought death!<n id="2" />

The one who believes in the Son has eternal life. The one who rejects<n id="1" /> the Son will not see life, but God&#8217;s wrath<n id="2" /> remains<n id="3" /> on him.p>

<p class="bodytext">&#8220;I tell you the solemn truth,<n id="1" /> the one who hears<n id="2" /> my message<n id="3" /> and believes the one who sent me has eternal life and will not be condemned,<n id="4" /> but has crossed over from death to life.

<t /><p class="bodytext">Now<n id="1" /> someone came up to him and said, &#8220;Teacher, what good thing must I do to gain eternal life?&#8221;

<t /><p class="bodytext">Now<n id="1" /> a certain ruler<n id="2" /> asked him, &#8220;Good teacher, what must I do to inherit eternal life?&#8221;<n id="3" />

For the bread of God is the one who<n id="1" /> comes down from heaven and gives life to the world.&#8221;

just as you have given him authority over all humanity,<n id="1" /> so that he may give eternal life to everyone you have given him.<n id="2" />

nor is he served by human hands, as if he needed anything,<n id="1" /> because he himself gives life and breath and everything to everyone.<n id="2" />

to the latter an odor<n id="1" /> from death to death, but to the former a fragrance from life to life. And who is adequate for these things?<n id="2" />

Now this<n id="1" /> is the promise that he<n id="2" /> himself made to<n id="3" /> us: eternal life.<n id="4" />

maintain<n id="1" /> yourselves in the love of God, while anticipating<n id="2" /> the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ that brings eternal life.<n id="3" />

But the gate is narrow and the way is difficult that leads to life, and there are few who find it.p>

<t /><p class="bodytext">Now<n id="1" /> as Jesus<n id="2" /> was starting out on his way, someone ran up to him, fell on his knees, and said, &#8220;Good teacher, what must I do to inherit eternal life?&#8221;<n id="3" />
