<t /><p class="poetry">At Adam<n id="1" /> they broke<n id="2" /> the covenant;p> <p class="poetry">Oh how<n id="3" /> they were unfaithful<n id="4" /> to me!p>

<t /><p class="bodytext">This is the record<n id="1" /> of the family line<n id="2" /> of Adam.p> <p class="bodytext">When God created humankind,<n id="3" /> he made them<n id="4" /> in the likeness of God.

<p class="bodytext">When<n id="1" /> Adam had lived 130 years he fathered a son in his own likeness, according to his image, and he named him Seth.

The entire lifetime<n id="1" /> of Adam was 930 years, and then he died.<n id="2" />p>

The length of time Adam lived<n id="1" /> after he became the father of Seth was 800 years; during this time he had<n id="2" /> other<n id="3" /> sons and daughters.

<p class="poetry">But to Adam<n id="1" /> he said,p> <p class="poetry">&#8220;Because you obeyed<n id="2" /> your wifep> <p class="poetry">and ate from the tree about which I commanded you,p> <p class="poetry">&#8216;You must not eat from it,&#8217;p> <p class="poetry">cursed is the ground<n id="3" /> thanks to you;<n id="4" />p> <p class="poetry">in painful toil you will eat<n id="5" /> of it all the days of your life.p>

<p class="bodytext">And Adam had marital relations<n id="1" /> with his wife again, and she gave birth to a son. She named him Seth, saying, &#8220;God has given<n id="2" /> me another child<n id="3" /> in place of Abel because Cain killed him.&#8221;
