<p class="bodytext">These are the names of the sons of Gershon by their families: Libni and Shimei.

<p class="bodytext">From the descendants of Gershom:<n id="1" /> Joel the leader and 130 of his relatives.p>

<t /><p class="bodytext">From Gershon came the family of the Libnites and the family of the Shimeites; these were the families of the Gershonites.

<p class="bodytext">And<n id="1" /> the responsibilities of the Gershonites in the tent of meeting included the tabernacle, the tent with its covering, the curtain at the entrance of the tent of meeting,

&#8220;Also take a census of the Gershonites, by their clans and by their families.

He gave two carts and four oxen to the Gershonites, as their service required;

Then the tabernacle was dismantled, and the sons of Gershon and the sons of Merari set out, carrying the tabernacle.p>

<p class="bodytext">Now these are the names of the sons of Levi, according to their records:<n id="1" /> Gershon, Kohath, and Merari. (The length of Levi&#8217;s life was 137 years.)p>

These were those numbered from the families of the Gershonites, everyone who served in the tent of meeting, whom Moses and Aaron numbered according to the word of the <sc>Lordsc>.p>

<p class="bodytext">And these are the Levites who were numbered according to their families: from Gershon, the family of the Gershonites; of Kohath, the family of the Kohathites; from Merari, the family of the Merarites.

Gershon&#8217;s descendants were allotted thirteen cities from the clans of the tribe of Issachar, and from the tribes of Asher and Naphtali and the half-tribe of Manasseh in Bashan.

<p class="bodytext">They assigned to the Gershonite clans of the Levites the following cities:<n id="1" /> from the half-tribe of Manasseh: Golan in Bashan (a city of refuge for one who committed manslaughter) and Beeshtarah, along with the grazing areas of each &#8211; a total of two cities;
