<p class="bodytext">They were allotted Hebron in the territory of Judah, as well as its surrounding pasturelands.

<p class="bodytext">The sons of Hebron:p> <p class="bodytext">Jeriah the oldest, Amariah the second, Jahaziel the third, and Jekameam the fourth.p>

When all the leaders<n id="1" /> of Israel came to the king at Hebron, David made an agreement<n id="2" /> with them in Hebron before the <sc>Lordsc>. They anointed<n id="3" /> David king over Israel, just as the <sc>Lordsc> had announced through Samuel.<n id="4" />p>

<t /><p class="bodytext">The sons of Caleb, Jerahmeel&#8217;s brother:p> <p class="bodytext">His firstborn Mesha, the father of Ziph, and his second son Mareshah,<n id="1" /> the father of Hebron.p>

<t /><p class="bodytext">These were the sons of David who were born to him in Hebron:p> <p class="bodytext">The firstborn was Amnon, whose mother was Ahinoam from Jezreel;p> <p class="bodytext">the second was Daniel, whose mother was Abigail from Carmel;p>

<p class="bodytext">These six were born to David<n id="1" /> in Hebron, where he ruled for seven years and six months.p> <p class="bodytext">He ruled thirty-three years in Jerusalem.<n id="2" />

<t /><p class="bodytext">The following is a record of the armed warriors who came with their leaders and joined David in Hebron in order to make David king in Saul&#8217;s place, in accordance with the <sc>Lordsc>&#8217;s decree:<n id="1" />p>
