<p class="poetry">By day it will be a shelter to provide shade from the heat,p> <p class="poetry">as well as safety and protection from the heavy downpour.<n id="1" />p>

<p class="poetry">Then the guard<n id="1" /> cries out:p> <p class="poetry">&#8220;On the watchtower, O sovereign master,<n id="2" />p> <p class="poetry">I stand all day long;p> <p class="poetry">at my postp> <p class="poetry">I am stationed every night.p>

<p class="poetry">Night and day it will burn;<n id="1" />p> <p class="poetry">its smoke will ascend continually.p> <p class="poetry">Generation after generation it will be a wastelandp> <p class="poetry">and no one will ever pass through it again.p>

<p class="poetry">Your gates will remain open at all times;p> <p class="poetry">they will not be shut during the day or at night,p> <p class="poetry">so that the wealth of nations may be delivered,p> <p class="poetry">with their kings leading the way.<n id="1" />p>

<p class="poetry">Then the <sc>Lordsc> will createp> <p class="poetry">over all of Mount Zion<n id="1" />p> <p class="poetry">and over its convocationsp> <p class="poetry">a cloud and smoke by dayp> <p class="poetry">and a bright flame of fire by night;<n id="2" />p> <p class="poetry">indeed a canopy will accompany the <sc>Lordsc>&#8217;s glorious presence.<n id="3" />p>

<p class="poetry">The sun will no longer supply light for you by day,p> <p class="poetry">nor will the moon&#8217;s brightness shine on you;p> <p class="poetry">the <sc>Lordsc> will be your permanent source of light &#8211;p> <p class="poetry">the splendor of your God will shine upon you.<n id="1" />p>
