This shall be the priests&#8217; fair allotment<n id="1" /> from the people who offer sacrifices, whether bull or sheep &#8211; they must give to the priest the shoulder, the jowls, and the stomach.

As you move forward for battle, the priest<n id="1" /> will approach and say to the soldiers,<n id="2" />

The priest will then take the basket from you<n id="1" /> and set it before the altar of the <sc>Lordsc> your God.

You will go to the Levitical priests and the judge in office in those days and seek a solution; they will render a verdict.

When he sits on his royal throne he must make a copy of this law<n id="1" /> on a scroll<n id="2" /> given to him by the Levitical priests.

<t /><p class="bodytext">The Levitical priests<n id="1" /> &#8211; indeed, the entire tribe of Levi &#8211; will have no allotment or inheritance with Israel; they may eat the burnt offerings of the <sc>Lordsc> and of his inheritance.<n id="2" />

then both parties to the controversy must stand before the <sc>Lordsc>, that is, before the priests and judges<n id="1" /> who will be in office in those days.

<t /><p class="bodytext">Be careful during an outbreak of leprosy to follow precisely<n id="1" /> all that the Levitical priests instruct you; as I have commanded them, so you should do.

Then the Levitical priests<n id="1" /> will approach (for the <sc>Lordsc> your God has chosen them to serve him and to pronounce blessings in his name,<n id="2" /> and to decide<n id="3" /> every judicial verdict<n id="4" />)

You must go to the priest in office at that time and say to him, &#8220;I declare today to the <sc>Lordsc> your<n id="1" /> God that I have come into the land that the <sc>Lordsc><n id="2" /> promised<n id="3" /> to our ancestors<n id="4" /> to give us.&#8221;

<t /><p class="bodytext">Then Moses wrote down this law and gave it to the Levitical priests, who carry the ark of the <sc>Lordsc>&#8217;s covenant, and to all Israel&#8217;s elders.
