For the Israelites<n id="1" /> must live many days without a king or prince, without sacrifice or sacred fertility pillar, without ephod or idols.

<p class="poetry">There is no darkness, and no deep darkness,p> <p class="poetry">where evildoers can hide themselves.<n id="1" />p>

<p class="poetry">There is no actual speech or word,p> <p class="poetry">nor is its<n id="1" /> voice literally heard.p>

<p class="poetry">When there were no deep oceans<n id="1" /> I was born,<n id="2" />p> <p class="poetry">when there were no springs overflowing<n id="3" /> with water;p>

<p class="poetry">Not even Lebanon could supply enough firewood for a sacrifice;<n id="1" />p> <p class="poetry">its wild animals would not provide enough burnt offerings.<n id="2" />p>

<p class="poetry">There is no one to plead your cause.p> <p class="poetry">There are no remedies for your wounds.<n id="1" />p> <p class="poetry">There is no healing for you.p>

<p class="bodytext">&#8220;I, the <sc>Lordsc>, say:<n id="1" /> &#8216;You and your people are saying<n id="2" /> about this place, &#8220;It lies in ruins. There are no people or animals in it.&#8221; That is true. The towns of Judah and the streets of Jerusalem<n id="3" /> will soon be desolate, uninhabited either by people or by animals. But happy sounds will again be heard in these places.

Throughout the afternoon they were in an ecstatic frenzy,<n id="1" /> but there was no sound, no answer, and no response.<n id="2" />p>

O <sc>Lordsc>, there is none like you; there is no God besides you! What we heard is true!<n id="1" />
