<p class="bodytext">Then he said to me, &#8220;Son of man, I am about to remove the bread supply<n id="1" /> in Jerusalem.<n id="2" /> They will eat their bread ration anxiously, and they will drink their water ration in terror

because they will lack bread and water. Each one will be terrified, and they will rot for their iniquity.<n id="1" />p>

&#8220;Son of man, eat your bread with trembling,<n id="1" /> and drink your water with anxious shaking.

Then you will do as I have done: You will not cover your lip or eat food brought by others.<n id="1" />

And the <sc>Lordsc> said, &#8220;This is how the people of Israel will eat their unclean food among the nations<n id="1" /> where I will banish them.&#8221;p>

<p class="bodytext">So he said to me, &#8220;All right then, I will substitute cow&#8217;s manure instead of human excrement. You will cook your food over it.&#8221;p>

As for my food that I gave you &#8211; the fine flour, olive oil, and honey I fed you &#8211; you placed it before them as a soothing aroma. That is exactly what happened, declares the sovereign <sc>Lordsc>.p>

<p class="bodytext">&#8220;&#8216;See here &#8211; this was the iniquity<n id="1" /> of your sister Sodom: She and her daughters had majesty, abundance of food, and enjoyed carefree ease, but they did not help<n id="2" /> the poor and needy.

Groan in silence for the dead,<n id="1" /> but do not perform mourning rites.<n id="2" /> Bind on your turban<n id="3" /> and put your sandals on your feet. Do not cover your lip<n id="4" /> and do not eat food brought by others.&#8221;<n id="5" />p>

When you bring foreigners, those uncircumcised in heart and in flesh, into my sanctuary, you desecrate<n id="1" /> it &#8211; even my house &#8211; when you offer my food, the fat and the blood. You<n id="2" /> have broken my covenant by all your abominable practices.

The remainder of the length alongside the holy allotment will be three and one-third miles<n id="1" /> to the east and three and one-third miles toward the west, and it will be beside the holy allotment. Its produce will be for food for the workers of the city.
