<p class="bodytext">Now Michal, Saul&#8217;s daughter, loved David. When they told Saul about this, it<n id="1" /> pleased him.

<p class="bodytext">When Saul realized<n id="1" /> that the <sc>Lordsc> was with David and that his<n id="2" /> daughter Michal loved David,<n id="3" />

So Michal lowered David through the window, and he ran away and escaped.p>

(Now Saul had given his daughter Michal, David&#8217;s wife, to Paltiel son of Laish, who was from Gallim.)p>

Now Michal, Saul&#8217;s daughter, had no children to the day of her death.p>

<p class="bodytext">Saul said to Michal, &#8220;Why have you deceived me this way by sending my enemy away? Now he has escaped!&#8221; Michal replied to Saul, &#8220;He said to me, &#8216;Help me get away or else I will kill you!&#8217;&#8221;<n id="1" />p>

<t /><p class="bodytext">The sons of Saul were Jonathan, Ishvi, and Malki-Shua.<n id="1" /> He had two daughters; the older one was named Merab and the younger Michal.

<p class="bodytext">Then Michal took a household idol<n id="1" /> and put it on the bed. She put a quilt<n id="2" /> made of goat&#8217;s hair over its head<n id="3" /> and then covered the idol with a garment.

when David, along with his men, went out<n id="1" /> and struck down two hundred Philistine men. David brought their foreskins and presented all of them to the king so he could become the king&#8217;s son-in-law. Saul then gave him his daughter Michal in marriage.p>

<p class="bodytext">Saul sent messengers to David&#8217;s house to guard it and to kill him in the morning. Then David&#8217;s wife Michal told him, &#8220;If you do not save yourself<n id="1" /> tonight, tomorrow you will be dead!&#8221;

So David said, &#8220;Good! I will make an agreement with you. I ask only one thing from you. You will not see my face unless you bring Saul&#8217;s daughter Michal when you come to visit me.&#8221;<n id="1" />p>

<p class="bodytext">David sent messengers to Ish-bosheth son of Saul with this demand:<n id="1" /> &#8220;Give me my wife Michal whom I acquired<n id="2" /> for a hundred Philistine foreskins.&#8221;

<p class="bodytext">As the ark of the <sc>Lordsc> entered the City of David, Saul&#8217;s daughter Michal looked out the window. When she saw King David leaping and dancing before the <sc>Lordsc>, she despised him.<n id="1" />

When David went home to pronounce a blessing on his own house,<n id="1" /> Michal, Saul&#8217;s daughter, came out to meet him.<n id="2" /> She said, &#8220;How the king of Israel has distinguished<n id="3" /> himself this day! He has exposed himself today before his servants&#8217; slave girls the way a vulgar fool<n id="4" /> might do!&#8221;p>

<p class="bodytext">David replied to Michal, &#8220;It was before the <sc>Lordsc>! I was celebrating before the <sc>Lord,sc> who chose me over your father and his entire family<n id="1" /> and appointed me as leader over the <sc>Lordsc>&#8217;s people Israel.

So the king took Armoni and Mephibosheth, the two sons of Aiah&#8217;s daughter Rizpah whom she had born to Saul, and the five sons of Saul&#8217;s daughter Merab<n id="1" /> whom she had born to Adriel the son of Barzillai the Meholathite.

As the ark of the <sc>Lordsc>&#8217;s covenant entered the City of David, Michal, Saul&#8217;s daughter, looked out the window. When she saw King David jumping and celebrating, she despised him.<n id="1" />p>
