<p class="bodytext">So this Daniel prospered during the reign of Darius and<n id="1" /> the reign of Cyrus the Persian.p>

The holy ones<n id="1" /> of the Most High will receive the kingdom and will take possession of the kingdom forever and ever.&#8217;p>

As for <i>peresi><n id="1" /> &#8211; your kingdom is divided and given over to the Medes and Persians.&#8221;p>

<p class="poetry">Then the kingdom, authority,p> <p class="poetry">and greatness of the kingdoms under all of heavenp> <p class="poetry">will be delivered to the people of the holy ones<n id="1" /> of the Most High.p> <p class="poetry">His kingdom is an eternal kingdom;p> <p class="poetry">all authorities will serve him and obey him.&#8217;p>

Now after you another kingdom<n id="1" /> will arise, one inferior to yours. Then a third kingdom, one of bronze, will rule in all the earth.

<p class="poetry">&#8220;How great are his signs!p> <p class="poetry">How mighty are his wonders!p> <p class="poetry">His kingdom will last forever,<n id="1" />p> <p class="poetry">and his authority continues from one generation to the next.&#8221;p>

<t /><p class="bodytext">It seemed like a good idea to Darius<n id="1" /> to appoint over the kingdom 120 satraps<n id="2" /> who would be in charge of the entire kingdom.

<p class="poetry">&#8220;This is what he told me:<n id="1" />p> <p class="poetry">&#8216;The fourth beast means that there will be a fourth kingdom on earthp> <p class="poetry">that will differ from all the other kingdoms.p> <p class="poetry">It will devour all the earthp> <p class="poetry">and will trample and crush it.p>

This is the interpretation of the words:<n id="1" /> As for <i>menei><n id="2" /> &#8211; God has numbered your kingdom&#8217;s days and brought it to an end.

In the days of those kings the God of heaven will raise up an everlasting kingdom that will not be destroyed and a kingdom that will not be left to another people. It will break in pieces and bring about the demise of all these kingdoms. But it will stand forever.

After twelve months, he happened to be walking around on the battlements<n id="1" /> of the royal palace of Babylon.

As for you, O king, the most high God bestowed on your father Nebuchadnezzar a kingdom, greatness, honor, and majesty.<n id="1" />

<v id="(6:1)" /><n id="1" /> So Darius the Mede took control of the kingdom when he was about sixty-two years old.p>

<p class="bodytext">At that time my sanity returned to me. I was restored<n id="1" /> to the honor of my kingdom<b>,b> and my splendor returned to me. My ministers and my nobles were seeking me out, and I was reinstated<n id="2" /> over my kingdom. I became even greater than before.

<p class="poetry">To him was given ruling authority, honor, and sovereignty.p> <p class="poetry">All peoples, nations, and language groups were serving<n id="1" /> him.p> <p class="poetry">His authority is eternal and will not pass away.<n id="2" />p> <p class="poetry">His kingdom will not be destroyed.<n id="3" />p>

<t /><p class="bodytext">&#8220;You, O king, are the king of kings. The God of heaven has granted you sovereignty, power, strength, and honor.

In that the toes of the feet were partly of iron and partly of clay, the latter stages of this kingdom will be partly strong and partly fragile.

They said to leave the taproot of the tree, for your kingdom will be restored to you when you come to understand that heaven<n id="1" /> rules.

The king uttered these words: &#8220;Is this not the great Babylon that I have built for a royal residence<n id="1" /> by my own mighty strength<n id="2" /> and for my majestic honor?&#8221;

While these words were still on the king&#8217;s lips,<n id="1" /> a voice came down from heaven: &#8220;It is hereby announced to you,<n id="2" /> King Nebuchadnezzar, that your kingdom has been removed from you!
