Heman and Jeduthun were in charge of the music, including the trumpets, cymbals, and the other musical instruments used in praising God. The sons of Jeduthun guarded the entrance.<n id="1" />p>

while David and all Israel were energetically<n id="1" /> celebrating before God, singing and playing various stringed instruments,<n id="2" /> tambourines, cymbals, and trumpets.

<p class="bodytext">David told the leaders of the Levites to appoint some of their relatives as musicians; they were to play various instruments, including stringed instruments and cymbals, and to sing loudly and joyfully.<n id="1" />

All Israel brought up the ark of the <sc>Lordsc>&#8217;s covenant; they were shouting, blowing trumpets, sounding cymbals, and playing stringed instruments.

Asaph was the leader and Zechariah second in command, followed by Jeiel, Shemiramoth, Jehiel, Mattithiah, Eliab, Benaiah, Obed-Edom, and Jeiel. They were to play stringed instruments; Asaph was to sound the cymbals;

<p class="bodytext">All of these were under the supervision of their fathers; they were musicians in the <sc>Lordsc>&#8217;s temple, playing cymbals and stringed instruments as they served in God&#8217;s temple. Asaph, Jeduthun, and Heman were under the supervision of the king.
